The College of Engineering and Technology is committed to providing a stimulating learning environment where classroom instruction and laboratory experiences combine to prepare students for the global workforce under constant demand and rapid change due to advances in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics. The College houses undergraduate programs that prepare students to become professionals who adapt to societal change, are life-long learners, and understand the economic impact of innovation. All of the disciplines within the College feature depth in the major courses and substantial grounding in mathematics, natural and physical sciences, the humanities, and social sciences.

The College of Engineering and Technology is home to motivated individuals who are interested in understanding and improving the world around them. Within the school, dedicated professors use a combination of classroom instruction and interactive laboratory experience to prepare students for a demanding global workforce that is prone to constant change.

Students have class, study, and socialize in VSU’s state-of-the-art Engineering Building; many students are just as likely to be found in one of the building’s many laboratories as in their own dorm rooms.

All of the disciplines within the College require substantial grounding in mathematics, natural and physical sciences, the humanities, and social sciences. Our challenging curriculum and supportive atmosphere enable us to continuously produce graduates that are competitive in a variety of fields.

The faculty in the College of Engineering and Technology are dedicated to inspire about the future and solve the challenges of today as we prepare the next generation of leaders, independent thinkers, problem solvers and innovators.

Our Mission

The Mission of the College of Engineering and Technology is to provide quality undergraduate and graduate education in engineering, engineering technology, mathematics, computer science, industrial technology and education; and to produce graduates who are well prepared to practice in their field of study and/or to pursue advanced education.
